If the answer to these is yes then the role of a Cover Supervisor could be the right one for you. As a Cover Supervisor you’ll be responsible for running a classroom and ensuring that the pupils are getting on with the provided work. You could be covering any subjects throughout the day and all of the work and materials will be provided in advance, you’ll make sure it gets handed out and collected in each lesson and that the children are getting on with it. You’ll deal with any behaviour according to the school’s guidelines and you’ll be able to give feedback on positive behaviour too.
Requirements:
– Existing Cover Supervisory experience, at least a year working as a HLTA, or a bachelors degree and classroom experience. – Outstanding organisational skills. – Good classroom management skills, able to create a positive learning environment. – Able to commute to local schools around Luton and Dunstable in the morning – A flexible approach to work, able to adapt quickly to a new environment. – Current DBS registered with the Online DBS Update Service, or a DBS through our clearance procedures. – Two satisfactory professional references.
You’ll get to work across a variety of local schools, working with different teams and pupils so you’ll be able to build up some great experience and best practices to help you in your career as well as to make local contacts. You’ll also have the benefit of working with a dedicated consultant who will work to get you into schools when you are available. This is a flexible role which can fit in around any other commitments you have. You’ll also be paid weekly at a competitive rate and we have regular payroll and PAYE options for you.
