Teach Agency are currently seeking to recruit an empathetic, dynamic and experienced SEND teacher to join our client's specialist partner SEND school, based near Wisbech. This is a temporary role to commence in January initially on an ongoing basis with the view of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

Our partner school provides education to children  and young people with Autism diagnosis and are on an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) for such Autism Spectrum Disorders.

You must hold the QTS qualification to be suitable for this role and ideally have experience of supporting students with Special Educational Needs. In addition you will need to 

  • Demonstrate that you have good behavioural management skills.
  • Be able to provide a bespoke curriculum which is broad, balanced and relevant to each individual child's needs.
  • Have a positive and creative approach.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with staff, pupils, parents and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Have an Enhanced DBS and be on the update service.
  • Have 2 education based references.

This role would be suitable for any QTS candidates however our client schools will also consider Higher Level Teaching Assistants or Unqualified Teachers with immediate availability. The ideal candidate must have a desire to work with young people and have a calm and authoritative manner.

Main duties include:

  • Supervising the cover work set by the absent Teacher.
  • Ensuring the children have the required resources and knowledge to complete the work set by the teacher. 
  • Managing the behaviour of pupils during the lesson to ensure all work is completed to a high standard.
  • Being on hand to assist with any question the children may have regarding the work. 
  • Collecting completed work after lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher/department. 

Requirements:

  • Educated to Degree level is desirable but not essential.

The successful candidates will need to have at least 12 months worth of teaching assistant experience and during that period you’ll have worked with children and young people with a range of complex needs, physical and mental and emotional, or with children and young people with challenging behaviour. Our client's value based lower school are looking for an individual with a caring and supportive nature to help support a Year 1 child with Autism. This role requires the Support Assistant to work 1:1 with the child on a daily basis whilst they are being assessed by professionals to help establish an Education Health and Care Plan going forward.

The 1:1 Support Assistant will act as the main "go to" between the provision and the school. The child will be assessed during the mornings and the successful applicant will assist with supporting them during the afternoons. within school.

Teach Agency are working with a ‘GOOD' rated Secondary School  based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire that are actively looking to appoint an inspirational Science Teacher to join their dedicated team of staff.

This role is ideal for experienced science teachers or an Early Career Teacher who has obtained a good degree in Science.. The successful candidate should be available to start at the beginning of November on an ongoing basis which is likely to last the full academic year.

Roles and Responsibilities 

  • Deliver a high standard of teaching to Key Stage 3 & 4.
  • Ability to create a highly energetic and motivating environment.
  • Provide lesson planning and preparation.
  • Evaluate and assess student's on a periodic basis. 
  • Provide a safe and healthy environment following safeguarding procedures.
  • Have excellent communication skills.

The ideal candidate for the role of a Science Teacher must have

  • Degree level education.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • The right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS with the Update Service.
  • 2 professional references from educational institutions
